Kansas City Artists -- it's Time to LINC up!

If you're a metro area artist, we want to hear from you, and we want to help you to be more successful in your work. Sign up now to be a part of KC Artist LINC.

We want to hear from artists working in all disciplines--musicians, visual artists, actors, dancers, writers, filmmakers, and others--artists from all backgrounds and all communities throughout the KC metro area.

How does this work? You let us know:
  • who you are,
  • how to contact you,
  • a little about yourself.
Then you'll be all set to hear more from us about LINC, a national effort to help artists that is coming to Kansas City. You'll find out about:
  • affordable health insurance and health care for artists,
  • professional development and training opportunities,
  • finding studio and live/work space,
  • other great stuff for artists that we haven't even figured out yet.
LINC has been working for the past 5 years with local partners in places like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, and other major cities to find ways to make lives and working conditions better for artists in the United States. (By the way, LINC stands for Leveraging Investments in Creativity, and is funded in part by the Ford Foundation.)

Now, LINC is coming to Kansas City. Through the efforts of Charlotte Street Foundation and the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City, the KC metro area has been selected as one of LINC's newest Creative Communities. Great news for local artists, and another sign of the growing recognition that this is a terrific place for artists to be.

We want to work with artists like you to find the best ideas for making Kansas City an even better place for artists to live and work. We'll build on ideas, resources and information that have already been proven successful in other communities. And we'll be exploring new ground ourselves, figuring out what will work best here.

We'll ask you for your opinions about what would make your life as an artist here better, and you'll hear from us about opportunities to meet with other artists to explore these ideas further.

Next year we'll start putting the best ideas into motion, but it all starts right here, right now with your decision to LINC up today!

So, tell us a little bit about yourself below, get involved, and get ready to roll up your sleeves as we LINC the artist community here more closely together, so we can all work to make this an even better home for you and your fellow artists!
